Litecoin

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that was created by Charlie Lee in 2011. It was designed to be a lightweight alternative to Bitcoin, with a faster transaction confirmation time and a different hashing algorithm (Scrypt). Litecoin aims to enable instant, low-cost payments to anyone in the world and is often referred to as the "silver to Bitcoin's gold." It features a maximum supply of 84 million coins, which is four times that of Bitcoin, and its block generation time is approximately 2.5 minutes, compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes. This makes Litecoin a more suitable option for smaller transactions and everyday use. It operates on a decentralized network, maintaining security and transparency through blockchain technology.
